My 8 favourite Sydney venues to perform at

I’ve been a magician based in Sydney since 2001 and although I get to perform magic all over Australia and the world most of my gigs are performed in Sydney. I’m lucky enough to get to perform in Sydney’s best and most unique venues. Here is a list of my favourite’s.

MCA roof top. The Museum Of Contemporary Art rooftop is one of my favourite places to perform. It has panoramic views of circular quay including the Sydney Opera House. Pair that with fantastic food and service and you’re onto a winner. 

The Sydney Opera House is Sydney’s iconic live performance venue. It has 8 performance spaces, most of them are reserved for ticketed events but the outdoor forecourt is available to hire for private events. It’s an amazing place to have an event with all the majesty of the Opera House.

Taronga zoo. Situated in Mossman with stunning views of Sydney Harbour and of course full of amazing animals, Taronga Zoo is one cool place to have an event. Especially at night when you can hear the animals.

Ivy Penthouse lies in the heart of the Sydney CBD. It’s a party oasis within a party oasis. Of course you get access to Merivale’s famous food and service and ready access to the rest of IVY once your event has finished

North Head Quarantine Station.  Situated on the North Head of Sydney Harbour, surrounded by native bushland, North Head Quarantine Station is one of the most unique places in Sydney to have a party. North Head Quarantine Station was Sydney’s actual Quarantine Station up until 1984. Make sure you check it out. 

Observatory Hill. You might notice a theme, most of my favourite locations in Sydney have water views, Observatory Hill is no different. In fact Observatory Hill might have the best of the lot with 360 degree views of Sydney harbour and CBD. Pair that with having your function in a actual observatory and you can see why it’s one of my favourite.

Cockatoo Island. An Island  in the middle of Sydney Harbour, Cockatoo Island has had so many amazing concerts, festivals and events over the years. With a myriad of conference venues, event spaces and even accommodation Cockatoo Island is a fantastic place to hold an event. As an added bonus your guests get a short harbour cruise to arrive at your event.

North Bondi Surf Club. Bondi Beach is known for its famous white sand and waves and it’s Sydney’s most famous beaches. At the North end lies North Bondi Surf Club. It doesn’t come with the in house catering so you have to outsource that but its more than made up for with panoramic views of Bondi Beach
